We’ve been building architecture committed to bonding with nature and improving people's lives for over 30 years. After graduating from Belgrano University in Buenos Aires, Argentina, architect Martin Gomez opened his first architecture office in Punta del Este, Uruguay in 1990. Six years later, he opened a second one in Buenos Aires. Since then, the studio’s numerous and unique houses have left an indelible mark on opposite shores of the Rio de la Plata. Through our studio’s body of work, one is able to connect with Martin’s philosophy of life and his diverse experiences: an open dialogue with nature, the equilibrium found in order, natural light, the use of noble materials, and an appreciation for the outdoors. In our eyes, the inclusion of transitional spaces such as patios, decks and pergolas, is essential; spaces that connect the indoors and the outdoors are a common thread in our designs. We are dedicated to fulfilling our clients’ requests, be they family homes, restaurants, hotels, apartment buildings, or real estate developments. Our two offices work in tandem to take on projects in diverse environments, ranging from the tranquility of the countryside or the beach, to the bustling complexity of the city —several built projects around the world bear witness to our versatility.
Our approach consists of two main pillars. The first involves a deep understanding of the native characteristics of each place, achieved through an exhaustive evaluation of the sites' geography, climate, and topography. This is where the material identity of our projects comes to life. Second, is the interpretation and adaptation of our client’s needs and intentions to create a space that satisfies and fosters their desired experiences. We look to inject permeability into our buildings, to create designs that are open and connected to their surroundings. The spaces we design inspire a way of life where leisure, recreation, contemplation, and gathering become part of the architecture.
