Casa Montezuma was designed for a plot located in front of a large, tree-lined, sloping square. The presence of a pre-existing single-story building and the visual integration with the square were the key factors in the project's development. The Urbane Mexico restaurant is on a corner, between a main street and a secondary one. Local regulations require not to build in a five-meter strip on the front of the property. We used this space as parking and access. We occupied the remaining surface with the two-level restaurant. The ground floor dining area occupies a third of this level. The site is the beautiful private land of 8 acres which is a dense forest with a lots coconut trees, mango trees, Nutmeg, Teak etc. Finding a perfect place for the farm house became difficult since we don’t want to cut down any trees on site. By making a grid in site, the form of the building has been achieved in accordance with the tree position. In November 2022, the doors to the new Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 in Bengaluru, India opened for the first travelers. The terminal, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), reflects India’s third largest city, known as the ‘Garden City’ and capital of technological innovation. When designing the hair salon, we were mainly inspired by an image of a desert after a storm – We were inspired by the variety of shapes formed by the wind, the effects of weathering or erosion and the fascinating ways nature shapes caves and chisels rocks to create amazing forms. We wanted the interior of the salon to reflect this mood. The salon comprises: 2 floors, 15 hairdressing stations, 2 barber stations, manicure and pedicure stations and a VIP room. NOKE designers gave all walls, reception desk and staircase a curvy look, so that they bring desert shapes to mind.
